Bloomingdale's Event

This is way past due but I wanted to blog about an event I hosted a few months back. It was a women's empowerment event and I was asked to moderate a panel of brilliant, successful women.

Crowd shot.

Bloomingdale's decorated our room so nicely! It was the cutest. Flowers all over! And the champagne was flowing.

Tangie Byrd was such a pleasure to work with. She is a true professional and a visionary. She made the event super fun.

So these five women. WOW. Huge inspiration to me. They are all trailblazers. Authors, Coaches, Influencers, all around GIRL BOSSES. I am still in touch with most of them today.

Wow. The last time I blogged was in OCTOBER. I've been so neglectful (is that a word?) to this beloved blog of mine. This blog - was birthed ONE year ago this week, although I didn't launch it until a few weeks later. I really want to revamp it with a new look and feel. So hopefully I will make some time in the near future to invest in that!

Since going full time at CBS46, I have been extremely busy. People always ask me what my schedule is. Thing is - it's constantly changing. If the days aren't changing, the hours are. But I love it. It's beyond rewarding. I work with a lot of cool people. It's a great place to be right now.

So what's up? Honestly. Not too much! So thought I would share some pics from my recent trip to New York - which was lovely and much needed. The food was A+. I wish I had some momofuku right now. That was probably my FAVORITE place. But I am also dreaming of Grimaldi's and chicken parm from La Mela in Little Italy, which reminds me - I need to schedule a Flywheel class this week.

Times Square, which we didn't love but had to walk through a million times.

We witnessed the women's march - NYC edition. Estimates of 300k+ people. The march took about six hours. Our uber driver was pissed haha

 That's all folks!

Rebecca Taylor Fashion Show

A few weeks ago, I was contacted by a fabulous Atlanta stylist, Shaye Strager, to be part of a fashion show. The designer – Rebecca Taylor (who I heart), so I was sooo excited for the opportunity. Rebecca Taylor’s team is on somewhat of a tour, going to multiple cities debuting the new fall/winter collection through fashion shows. The team we worked with had just come from a Miami store opening the day before.

The theme of the fashion show was ‘Ones to Watch’ in Atlanta. Eight “models” were selected, all from different professional industries. I represented the communications field.

When I went in for fittings a few days before the show, I was given a beautiful black lace-like top and leather skirt paired with ysl booties. I loved the outfit! So cute and so me.

But on the day of the show, I was given a totally different outfit, which I thought was even better! It was a blue-colored vegan snakeskin dress. It was heaven. So stretchy and comfortable. The team thought the black outfit was too dark. I laughed because that’s exactly what my mom says when I wear black. And as pretty as the dress was, the shows were equally as cute.

Links for both are below.

Hair and makeup was done at Steve Hightower salon in Buckhead before the show. The look was pin-straight hair and minimal makeup.

The show was held at the brand new AC hotel in Buckhead. I drive past it just about every day on my way to Brookhaven. Its right next to Phipps Plaza and it’s so modern and trendy + the room where we got ready was amazing.

Each girl did one look as Shaye introduced us and read our bios.

The president of Rebecca Taylor (who was soooo freakin cute) spoke briefly and then we had drinks and bites on the patio, complete with a Rebecca Taylor pop-up shop.
