I wanted to show you a few pics from the BAHAMAS. Gary and I went with another couple. Like many people, we were itching to travel somewhere tropical. Gary’s friends chose the location and I chose the resort.

We’ve seen pictures of Baha Mar on social media and I know plenty of people who have visited the property so we wanted to check it out. The flight to Nassau from Atlanta is a breeze…just two hours!

Getting through customs was also no problem and we had the most fabulous cab driver to the hotel. He made us one of the island’s specialty cocktails for the ride. He also stopped at a convenience store so we could grab a few things before we arrived at the resort.

Baha Mar was simply beautiful. It’s actually three hotels, the SLS, the Grand Hyatt and Rosewood. We stayed at the Grand Hyatt, which had a number of pools & a casino. I’ve actually never (seriously) gambled before so it was fun learning a few of the games. I even won a little money!

The first day, Gary and I spent time eating at several of the resort’s restaurants, hanging out at the beach, and listening to AMAZING live music at the piano bar.

The following few days were really fun. We couldn’t have asked for better weather. We were able to walk the beach and visit the resort’s brand new water park. It actually had just opened the week we were there! We floated down the lazy river…which brought back memories of visiting water parks as kids.

Of course, Baha Mar will always have a special place in my heart because it’s where I got engaged.
