Join a Small Group

It has been 4 weeks since I joined a small group at Buckhead Church. I have NEVER been in a group before. I had always put it off, told myself I was too busy, didn't need it, etc...

But after coming back to Atlanta, I realized that I needed to be with a group of women who were seeking God. What I found - some of the best people I have ever met. (not an exaggeration)

A little more than four weeks ago we initially met at #GroupLink. Two days after, we met for our very first small group meeting. It was a raw, emotional meeting with lots of tears and laughs and more tears. We were completely honest with each other, telling one another the good and the really bad in our lives. It was so refreshing to be with others who didn't mind being vulnerable, who took off the "instagram filter of false perfection." We all knew on that night, that God put us in each others lives for a reason. #MeantForEachOther

We've met three more times since then, had a birthday outing, and are now in the stages of planning a surprise engagement party for one of our girls. I just love to be around these women. They are an absolute bright spot in what has been a dark time. I am so thankful for them.

And I want to say, these are REAL women with REAL problems. I didn't expect that. I now know that I had preconceived ideas about women in small groups...that they had it all together, that they had the 'picket fence life.' I couldn't have been more wrong. We're all the same, just trying to figure out this thing called life. All while trying to know and love the Lord more deeply.

All this to say - find a core group of women who support you, believe in you and can keep you accountable. A great place to do this is at church, in a small group.

Seriously if you have any questions about this process, my experience or just small group in general - ask me!
